Best Action Movies - This is another website we own on this same subject. The articles there are different, so it's worth checking out.

Disaster Flicks - This is such a distinctive subgenre of the action movie genre that it warrants its own site, and sure enough, here it is. The information on the site is organized by decade. I'm particularly fond of disaster movies of the 1970's.

Everything Action - This action movie website is actually a weblog, and it's a really good one, with frequent updates. The site focuses largely on action movie news and upcoming films, and they publish plenty of trailers, if you're into that sort of thing.

Filmsite.org: Action Films - Tim Dirks' brilliant website focuses mostly on classic movies, but his section about action movies is well worth browsing through. The site covers the James Bond movies, blaxploitation movies, Action Movie Websites martial arts movies, and a whole bunch of other subgenres of the action film genre.

Flash Bang Movie Reviews - This action movie website consists mostly of short reviews of various action movies. The "unseen classics" section is my favorite, because I'm always looking for something new to watch.

IMDB Best/Worst Action Titles - The Internet Movie Database uses some kind of algorithm that includes user reviews to create lists of the most popular movies in various genres. Their page about action movies warrants their inclusion on this list of action movie websites. I'm not sure how good their algorithm is, as right now the #1 movie on their list is something called Elite Squad 2, which I've never heard of. They also offer a page about adventure films.

Kaboom Review - This site hasn't been updated in a year or two, but I've corresponded with the site owner, Mike Blitz, recently, and he assures me that he's going to start reviewing movies again soon. But the number of reviews already featured on the site will keep you busy for quite a while.

Only Good Movies: Good Action Movies - My good friend Shane wrote this article about action movies. And if there's one movie genre that Shane knows about, it's the action movie genre.

Open Directory - Arts: Movies: Genres: Action - When you're looking for high quality, unique content on any subject, then the Open Directory is usually a pretty good starting place. The action movie websites listed there were all hand-selected by some really stringent editors, so their directory of sites is probably at least as good as our listing here.

The Ruthless Guide to 80s Action Movies - Any action movie fan will tell you that the 1980's was a golden decade for the genre. The Ruthless Reviews site offers an entertaining and informative guide to the state of the genre during that decade.

Yahoo Directory: Movies and Film: Action and Adventure - If you're looking for lists of action film websites, and the Open Directory link above didn't generate a big enough list for you, then the Yahoo Directory also has a section of action films. Like the ODP, the Yahoo Directory is hand-edited by experts, but Yahoo charges site owners a fee to have their site reviewed. This has not in any way hurt the quality of their listings; in fact, it seems to have helped it. (A webmaster will only pay the $299 fee if they feel like their site offers a real resource to its visitors.)
